Impressions of Lake Garda

We show personal and collected moments and impressions by clients from the lovely Lake Garda on this page .

Lake Garda (Italian: Lago di Garda or Bénaco) is the largest lake in Italy. In the year 200 B.C . to the year 800 A.D. had the ancient name Lacus benacus. Shaped by the Rhaetian glaciers in the last past ice age . The first settlements at the lake shore date back around the year 2000. B.C.
The climate is sub-mediterranean due to its location with hot summers and scarce rainfalls, mid winters. The average annual temperature is between 13 and 15 degr. C. At Gardone Riviera, at the South West shore of the lake, there is the mildest climate north of the Alpine region. The North part of the Lake Garda between Torbole and Malcesine is a Hot-Spot for Sailers and Surfers due to constant winds. Perfect for an all-round successful boating holiday.
